Sheffield Hallam University National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering

DC Norris are very pleased to announce they have been invited to attend the ‘ground-breaking event’ at Sheffield Hallam University on the 16th October, for their new National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering (NCEFE).   The event marks the start of construction of The Centre which is designed to tackle food industry challenges such as productivity, producing more for less, minimising waste and reducing costs.  It will support the food and drink industry by developing new and enhanced facilities, processes and equipment and creating a knowledgeable workforce with experience of leading engineering systems and processes. 

We are also proud to have been invited to join the Food Engineering Centre of Excellence Industry Advisory Board, where we will join industry leading names such as Premier Foods, Greencore and Siemens as well as the Sheffield Hallam team.  Together we will provide the expertise to guide the layout of the process areas, and the relevant equipment for this exciting new facility.

DCN are honoured to be involved in the IAB and the NCEFE, and see it as a testament to our status as the leading manufacturer of food processing equipment for the convenience meal industry worldwide.  We are delighted that we can use our 45 years of experience in the Food Industry to help educate future generations of food engineering students, and also assist in the NCEFE become the leading centre of its type in the UK.
