Continuous cooking system for mash potato and root vegetables such as carrots, parsnips and swede.

Designed to produce up to 2 tons per hour continuously

D C Norris – Steam Auger Cooking System designed for the continuous
cooking of root vegetables at a throughput of up to 200 kg/hr and
comprising of the following.

Stainless Steel Auger Conveyor
As the product travels along this inclined perforated conveyor it
is cooked via a series of steam infusers. The steam condensate
drains backwards through the perforations and to drain.
Complete with:

  • Perforated flights to ensure the beets are in contact with the
    maximum amount of steam at all time, thus reducing cooking time
    and providing continual and even heat transfer
  • Multiple heating zones that can be independently operated /
    controlled to give an even cook for different sizes and types of beet
  • Variable speed to control the dwell time in the auger, combined
    with the controllable heating zones this will give optimum control of
  • The auger will feed the product via a chute to customer’s receiving

The complete Mini System can produce approximately 160kgs of finished mash per hour, and our larger systems can produce in excess of 2000kgs per hour (recipe dependant).

The Auger System can steam most types of vegetables and some pulses.
